About this project

The Gañafote Cup is an international grassroots football tournament which brings together the youth teams of world-renowned teams such as Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester City and Olympique Marseille, among others.

Its organisers, the Gañafote Group, hired Mechanic Games’ services to bring to life the event’s friendly mascot: Brinco, the grasshopper.

Our work consisted of modelling, texturing and animating Brinco in 3D, rendering the content (static poses and video) and configuring the character for 3d printing, which also became the competition trophy.

Project Tasks

Character Design

Taking as a reference an illustration provided by our client, we carried out the process of adapting the mascot to different styles which are currently popular among the target audience.

3D Modelling

The choice of character design was transformed into a textured and rigged 3D model, fully prepared for the generation of poses and 3D animations commissioned by our client.

3D Animation

We made a series of static poses and 3D animations of the character both alone and interacting with some objects. All of this was rendered in high resolutions for multimedia use.
